What Ever Happened to Venus? An Introduction to Biosphere Collapse – C
What is climate change, really? Is this the hottest summer in the last 100,000 years or the coldest year of the rest of our lives? Is there anything anarchists can do about any of this? Are anarchists again stuck in a reactive mode, struggling to maintain the few victories they’ve had? In this workshop, we’ll discuss the reality and science of climate change using the most current evidence-based scientific sources and frame the current situation in a variety of contexts: the geologic timescale, extinction events experienced by other hominids, and previous climate change events within human history. From this baseline, we’ll delve into proposed anarchist responses to the crisis and workshop what we can do on the local level to prepare for a reality that is likely more intense than most of us can imagine.

The Fight for Trans Rights Against the US-backed Christofascists in Singapore – C
In Singapore, we are fighting against a looming Christofascist takeover
of the Singaporean state by Christofascists receiving help from their US counterparts, such as the Heritage Foundation. Singaporean Christofascists have adopted the language of Western transphobia and the tactics of Libs of TikTok to push for being trans to be classified as a mental illness. We desperately need international attention on this dire situation and anarchists around the world to support our struggle against fascism and for trans liberation. This will be a presentation about the ongoing struggle in Singapore, as well as how it relates to similar crackdowns on queer and trans rights in other parts of the world that have also been pushed by the American Christian far-right, such as Uganda, Ghana, and Peru. As anarchists, we know international solidarity across borders is key to all of our liberations, especially trans liberation.

Anarchist History Nerd Convergence, Hosted by Historical Seditions – G
We invite all those spending far too many hours in dusty archives archives and library basements for open-ended conversation and connection-making. Share sources and research, tips and tricks, and the hottest tea from a century past. Participants are invited to discuss their research interests, point out gaps in our common understanding and challenges filling them, and examine the relevance of history to our contemporary struggles. We also hope to share ideas on making radical history more widely known.
